Team BC onward to curling quarter finals

BC’s women’s curling team was victorious in their final round robin game today against Saskatchewan.

BC won 8 – 6, but the game went down to the hammer shot for Saskatchewan and could have swung either way.

“We started off really well.” Team BC Skip Sarah Daniels said “But in the back half of the game we kind of got off the tracks a little bit, it was a little sloppy. They picked up their game a lot and played very well.”

Team BC finished with a round robin record of 5 – 1, good enough for the second seed in their pool.

Looking forward to their quarter final game Friday, Sarah says the team plans on playing the game “end by end” and treating it like any other game.

She also added that the Canada Games have been about a lot more than just curling for her team.

“Just about every night that we can, we try to go and listen to the music and watch the fireworks. The first few days that we were here, we were tourists and took like 200 pictures of everything and got a bunch of free stuff. It was awesome.”

Team BC will take the ice at noon on Friday against New Brunswick. For up-to-date scores check here.
