Edward Berry trial delayed

The arraignment of Edward Berry, a former Prince George Ministry of Children Manager facing child porn charges has been delayed.

Defence attorney Jonathan Desbarats requested the adjournment via a phone appearance citing new evidence and hard drives surfacing through disclosure.

The Crown prosecutor agreed, calling the case “complicated and slow moving”. Proceedings will resume on May 13th.

The 51 year old was arrested in December of 2014 for an offence that allegedly occurred in April 2014 “in or near” Prince George. At the time of the arrest he was a regional manager for the Ministry

He is facing two charges; one for accessing, and one for possession child pornography.
