Jadyn Arnett of the Prince George Black Diamond Lanes captured gold at the YBC five-pin Nationals in Toronto. The 11-year-old Arnett came first in a field of 11 in the Bantam Single Girls Division.

Meanwhile, in the Senior Girls team competition, Black Diamond Lanes placed 5th out of eight. The PG team of Megan Reimer, Kassidy Johnson, Paige Meise & Lezzyl Aquino won 12 of 21 games over three days.

–The Westwood Pub Devils improved to 3-0 in PG Senior Lacrosse with a 13-4 victory over the Northland/Nissan Assault. The Assault slip to 1-3. The Devils face the 3-0 Bandits in a first place showdown Wednesday night at 8 at the PG Coliseum.

–Prince George players helped the BC under-18 men to a bronze medal at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Halifax.

Austin Gray of PG, who played this season with the Cariboo Cougars, notched two goals, including the game winner shorthanded, and added an assist as BC nipped Manitoba 5-4 in the third place game.

BC lost to Alberta 7-4 in the semis. Saskatchewan claimed both the men’s and women’s gold medal for the second consecutive year.

–The WHL final will feature the Kelowna Rockets against the Brandon Wheat Kings. The series will be a 2-3-2 format and begins Friday in Brandon.

–Ex PG Track Club member Alyx Treasure won the women’s high jump at a meet in Lawrence, Kansas. The 22-year-old Treasure, competing for K-State, took first place with a leap of 1.84m.

–PG Gymnasts had a number of medal results at the Prince George Invitational Meet and Zone 8 Gymnastics Championships. Out of town clubs that participated were from Fort St. John, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Smithers and Kititmat.
