Forward Jarryd Leung, who played with the Prince George Spruce Kings in the 2014-15 season, has committed to play Canadian University Hockey for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks starting in the fall. Wilfrid Laurier is based in Waterloo and the Golden Hawks play in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference of the CIS. Leung (acquired from the Powell River Kings in a trade October 28th, 2014) notched 11 goals and 28 assists for 39 points in 44 games.

–The Oshawa Generals clinched a spot in Sunday’s Memorial Cup final following a 2-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets. The WHL champion Rockets finished round robin play 1-2 which may be good enough for a spot in Friday’s semi-final, pending the result of tonight’s game between host Quebec and Rimouski. Quebec is 1-1 and Rimouski is 0-2.

–The Kootenay Ice new head coach is Luke Pierce who gets a 3-year deal. Pierce had been the coach and GM of the Merritt Centennials.

–The Westwood Pub Devils put their 6-0 record on the line tonight (Wednesday) at 8 in Prince George Senior Lacrosse. The Devils go up against the 2-5 Northland/Nissan Assault at Kin 1.
