Some of you may not know about the World Ball Hockey Championships. You may also be unaware that a PG representative is taking part.
Jamie Walch is a goaltender for Team Ireland, but she is also a PG Native. She says the tournament makeup consists of one girls division of five teams and two mens divisions, and says they have done reasonably well so far:
“Our first game was against Canada, we didn’t win but we fought hard and made them work for every inch they had, and then we have played Slovakia and we beat them 4-1 and then we beat the US 1-0 with two and a half seconds left!”
The Championships are taking place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this year, and Walch explained how amazing the atmosphere has been and just how popular the sport really is.
