Clearer picture of Prince Rupert LNG facility made known

Details of a $36 billion LNG investment were made known Monday.

The province and Pacific NorthWest LNG have signed an agreement that will see a facility built on Lelu Island near Prince Rupert.

Finance Minister Mike de Jong says this project is expected to create a multitude of jobs for the area.

“I am told at peak construction, this project will employ upwards of 4500 individuals,” says de Jong, “at the completion of the construction phase of the project, the ongoing long term employment is likely to be in the area of 500 to a thousand people.”
