Northern Lights keeping it local

Canada’s most northern winery is trying something new!

Northern Lights Estate Winery has rallied a local band and restaurant to make the perfect summer date night.

“On August 14th we’re having the Sunset Series,” says winery partner Doug Bell, “It’s wine, tapas, and music at the orchard. it’s going to be fantastic.”

Local band Aurora Lights will bring the noise, while the Hummus Brothers provide something to nosh on, and Northern Lights will be pouring some wine into special collector’s glasses.

“It’s a great place to come with a date or friends.”

Sunset series tickets are $85, and can be purchased from the winery.

The local emphasis is clear in what the winery does, but they’re also tasking it one step further.

“Next year we’re opening up our lounge endorsement, and when we do that, we’re going to be able to serve local brews, ciders, and liqueurs,” explains Bell, “We’ll be able to have Barkerville Brewing Company in there if we want, Valemount Brewing Company, PWB… It’s going to give small businesses and upcoming businesses an opportunity to showcase their product in our area, and we’ll be able to do the same thing in their lounges.”
