UNBC holding weeklong events for Inspiring Women Among Us week.

UNBC will be celebrating Inspiring Women Among Us week from November 13th to the 20th.

The week began with a goal of reducing violence against women, and has grown to include discussions and awareness of women’s achievements and knowledge in spaces that aren’t often created for them.

Caring in the Time of Polycrisis is the theme this year, and Student Planning Assistant, Kiara Mills goes over some of the events throughout the week.

“We have a number of events focusing on care, either for yourself or for others. We have quite a few incredible speakers, we have a play which will be focusing on nurses in World War 2.”

Mills says the week is an initiative based out of the university, and was founded by Dr. Zoe Meletis and Dr. Annie Booth back in 2015.

All the events will be open for any Prince George community member, and for any gender.
