Library Month Spells New Programs at PGPL

October is Library Month in BC and the Prince George Public Library is gearing up.

The library has a series of new programs and events getting going this month from the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale to a new book club that will meet in a different bar every month.

“We are community driven. Most of our programs are actually coming out of suggestions from the public and from the community” said Andrea Palmer with the Prince George Public Library. “We feel that recognition when people come through our doors and attend our events. We’re just really thrilled with the work we’re able to do here.”

She notes it’s also an opportunity to recognize the Library’s history.

“This community has a very long and affirmed relationship with its public library” said Palmer. “I think we’re well over one hundred years old when it comes to a library existing in Prince George started by volunteers.”

The Library is also celebrating it’s 60th anniversary since being adopted by the City.
