Silver for Seehra in the ring & Connell advances in curling

Prince George Inner City fighter Jag Seehra earned silver in the 60 kg division at the 2015 Western Canadian Boxing Championships in Vancouver.

Seehra is one of nine boxers from B.C. that has qualified for the 2016 Elite Canadian National Championships that will take place in Quebec City April 28th to May 2nd.

B.C. fighters earned 4 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze at the Westerns.

Bob Pegues of Prince George is the BC Provincial Team Coach.

–Inner City boxer Kenny Lally is gearing up for the Canadian Olympic trials that start Dec 5th in Montreal.

Lally will be attempting to qualify for the Olympic Trials in Peru in April.

–The Alyssa Connell rink of Prince George is one of eight teams to qualify for the Tim Horton’s BC Junior Girls curling Championship Dec. 29 to Jan 3 in Kamloops.

Connell advanced by knocking off Jessie Withey of PG in two straight games 8-7 and 7-4.

–The Duchess Park Condors will play Highland for 11th and 12th at the 16-team Provincial boys double A soccer championship in Burnaby.

Duchess finished 1-1-1 in round robin play, good for third in its four team pool.

The Condors lost 3-2 to Brookswood in its first playoff game on the consolation side.
