Chiefs thump Spruce Kings

The road woes for the Prince George Spruce Kings continued as they fell 4-0 to the Chilliwack Chiefs tonight (Wed).

The Chiefs jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period courtesy of Mark Esposito and Jesse Lansdell.

Chilliwack would add another in the second after Jordan Kawaguchi made it 3-0 on the power play.

Brendan Shane iced the game for the Chiefs at 6:56 of the third period.

Rider Stoglin returned to the Spruce Kings lineup after leaving the team earlier this season.

Prince George was outshot 30-24.

Liam McCloskey made 27 saves in the loss.

Josh Latta made his BCHL debut for Prince George after getting called up from the Vancouver Northwest Giants of the BC Major Midget Hockey League.

The Spruce Kings continue their three game road trip tomorrow (Thursday) against the Langley Rivermen before finishing off against the Coquitlam Express on Friday.

Prince George trails the Express by 8 points for the final playoff spot in the Mainland Division.

Coquitlam has three games in hand on the Spruce Kings.

The next home game is December 3rd when Prince George plays host to Coquitlam.
