The Kootenay Ice acquired 18-year-old forward Austin Gray of Prince George (along with 17-year-old forward Reed Morison) from the Portland Winterhawks for a 7th round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
In seven career games with Portland (including two this season), the 6-foot-0, 160-pound Gray had one assist.
As captain of the Cariboo Cougars, Gray finished with 64 points (25-39-64) last season.
