The Brandon Wheat Kings scored four unanswered first period goals, including two late ones on the power play, and they went on to an 8-3 triumph over the Prince George Cougars.

Ex Wheat King Jesse Gabrielle and Tate Olson both notched a goal and two assists for the (31-20-2-1) Cougars, who are 2-2-1 on their six game Prairie road trip.

The P.G. Cougars have signed 1999-born forward Adam Kadlec (Edina, MN) to a Standard WHL Player Agreement.

Originally selected by the Cougars in the 10th round in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, Kadlec (6’2”, 179 pounds), started this season with the Boston Jr. Bruins 18U program in the U.S. Premier Hockey League.

He recorded two assists in three games.

Kadlec becomes the sixth player from the Cougars 2014 draft class to sign with the team.

He joins fellow forwards Justin Almeida (Round 1) and Ethan O’Rourke (Round 3) and defencemen Max Martin (Round 2), Peter Kope (Round 5) and Ryan Schoettler (Round 7).
