Just 3 housing starts in Prince George were recorded last month according to the Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation.
Market Analyst, Taylor Pardy says things can get a little goofy in smaller cities early in the year.
“As this is the first month of year starts can be somewhat volatile especially in smaller cities in BC plus there is now way to discern a trend from these numbers.”
All new start ups were of the single detached variety while no new multi-family dwellings began construction.

16 single detached dwellings were undertaken at the same time last year.
Prince George enjoyed a strong year for housing starts with 269 in 2015.
