PG Cougars stuck in 3rd

The Prince George Cougars fell further back of the Victoria Royals and the Kelowna Rockets in the B.C. Division following WHL action on Family Day.

The Royals came from behind to beat Everett 6-4 to extend their point streak to 12 (11-0-1) while the Rockets rallied to knock off Seattle 7-4.

The 31-21-2-1 Cougars, coming off a 2-3-1 Prairie road trip, are 10 points behind the second place Royals and 12 back of the Rockets.

P.G. is nine points ahead of the 4th place Kamloops Blazers, who edged Calgary 3-2 on Monday.

The Vancouver Giants, 1-0 winners over Edmonton, are in last place six points behind Portland for a wild card spot and eight back of Kamloops.

The Cougars, who have scored the most goals in the Western Conference with 199, host the WHL leading Rockets Friday and Saturday.
