Prince George City Council to hold meeting on Connaught Motor Inn

The City of Prince George has set a special meeting for next month about the Connaught Motor Inn.

City staff are moving to suspend the business license for the motel, citing public health and safety, security and building maintenance.

Bylaw Services Manager Fred Crittenden says several outstanding issues have not been dealt with and this is the next step.

In October 2015, WorkSafeBC fined the motel operator $3,889 when two employees were found repairing its roof without proper safety precautions.

The meeting on May 25th at 9am will act as a trial of sorts and hear the motels side of the story and appeal of the suspension. It will be open to the public, however comments will not be taken.

A final decision on the property will be expected shortly after the meeting, possibly even immediately. Until then, the business license for the Connaught Motor Inn remains valid.
