Cougars 50/50 society donates $105,000 to local hockey groups

The Cariboo Cougars and the Prince George Minor Hockey Association received a financial boost from the Prince George Cougars on Thursday.

The 50/50 Society awarded the major midget team $65,000 while the PGMHA got $40,000.

Vice-President of Business, Andy Beesley can’t say enough good things about both groups.

“They have both a fantastic job with their coaching staff and support from the parents within the organization in developing first class hockey players with the most recent example being Chase Witala.”

The 50/50 draws have been a major fundraiser for Cariboo which is used toward their annual trip to Calgary for the Mac’s Tournament.

Minor Hockey will invest their amount to buy new jerseys for its rep clubs that will feature the new Cougars logo.
