Sexual Assault in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park Monday morning

The Prince George RCMP is warning the public of a reported sexual assault at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Monday.

Police say a lone male assaulted an underage female around 4 AM while she walked through the park alone.

The Prince George RCMP’s Sex Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Section and Police Service Dog Section were called in to help investigate.

The suspect is described as:
· First Nations male;
· 183 cm (6’0″);
· Buzz cut hair with a beard;
· Wearing many rings.

RCMP are warning the public and advise you to take the following precautions:

· Keep your head up, stay alerted and be aware of your surroundings;
· Take note of people, businesses and other sources of assistance, should you need them;
· Avoid a person or situation that does not feel safe;
· Avoid using headphones preventing you from hearing your surroundings;
· Whenever possible, travel in groups of two or more;
· Walk along well-lit, well-traveled roads;
· Plan your route and avoid certain areas;
· Vary your route so that you don’t become predictable;
· Avoid footpaths;
· Carry a whistle or noise maker;
· If approached or followed, call 9-1-1 immediately.
