ICBC and police are preaching safety this Canada Day long weekend.
Spokesperson, Sam Corea says the north central region saw a handful of injuries during this time last year.
“On Canada Day last year in the north central region 5 people were injured in 56 crashes so this period can be a busy time and a dangerous one on BC roads.”
Counterattack road checks take effect on Friday.
If your long weekend includes alcohol you’re asked to get a designated driver, call a taxi, or take public transit.
