With highs of 33 degrees this weekend the RCMP are asking you to not leave pets or kids in cars.

North District RCMP Sergeant Al Steinhauser says don’t leave anyone alone inside a car at any time.

Steinhauser says if you leave a child in a car, you could be reported to other authorities.

With pets, the SPCA could press charges if they felt compelled to do so.

He says they average about 1-2 calls a week with children or pets being left in hot cars.
