Police record 36 violations during Impaired Driving Enforcement blitz

Thirty-six violations were recorded by the Prince George RCMP this past weekend as part of their Impaired Driving Enforcement.

Of that total, 3 were for alcohol impairment, 7 for speeding violations, followed by 1 impairment by drugs.

According to Corporal Craig Douglass, some drivers aren’t getting the message.

“I think these numbers are right on par with what we would expect, people are still out their who have not gotten the message about impaired driving and still choose too, others believe impairment by drugs is not an offence which it absolutely is.”

Douglass says no stone will be left unturned.

“We will target distracted driving, people not stopping for pedestrians. A number of different initiatives we will be following through with by the end of the year.”

Police recorded the incident on Friday and Saturday.
