Vasiliki Louka of the UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team has been named the first star of the week by Canada West.
Louka had a 14 point, 15 rebound effort against the Wolfpack during Friday’s 89-82 victory.
The native of Athens, Greece followed that up with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks as the Timberwolves made it two in a row over TRU with a 68-57 decision.
Louka led all players in minutes played with 68.

She is averaging 15.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.1 block per game which all rank in the conference’s top 10.
This marks the first time in school history an athlete has earned first star honours.
The Timberwolves swept an opponent for the first time during their five-year tenure in Canada West.
