A fire in a trailer park in Valemount last night has taken the life of a child.
Valemount Fire Rescue and RCMP responded to the blaze just after 10 pm last night. The trailer was fully engulfed and, while two people managed to escape, a child did not. The other two family members suffered second degree burns and have been transported to Vancouver for treatment.
Valemount’s Fire Chief does not believe the fire was suspicious but an investigation will take place, conducted by the BC Coroners Service.
