Prince George’s first cold snap of 2017 to end by the weekend

The frigid temperatures that have hung around Prince George are coming to an end.

Alyssa Charbonneau with Environment Canada says things will improve by the weekend. “Getting into Sunday we’ll be looking at temperatures closer to seasonal and actually going above that by next week with some daytime highs to be above freezing.”

A high of -16 degrees is expected for Thursday followed by an expected high of -14 on Friday.

However, next week could get as warm as plus 6 by Wednesday with rain possibly in the forecast.

Until then, Charbonneau reminds you to bundle up. “As we still do have some of those cold wind-chills during the early morning hours, anyone who is going to be exposed should really take care and dress appropriately and hang on because it looks like some relief is coming.”
