Chiefs complete sweep of Spruce Kings

The Prince George Spruce Kings were unable to solve the Chilliwack Chiefs on Saturday falling 5-2 at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

It took just five seconds for the Chiefs to find the back of the net courtesy of Will Claverley.

Tyler Anderson evened the score just 30 seconds later as he potted his 16th of the season past Chilliwack goaltender Mark Sinclair.

Chilliwack took the lead right back before the end of the period when Olivier Arseneau ripped one past Prince George net minder Aris Anagnostopolous who was later pulled in favour of Tavin Grant.

The offence slowed down a little bit in the middle frame with Kohen Olischefski potting the only marker giving the visitors a 3-1 edge at the end of 40 minutes.

Jake Smith and Jordan Kawaguchi extended the advantage in the third to ice the victory for the Chiefs.

Ben Brar scored a late goal for Prince George to make the score a little more respectable.

The Spruce Kings were outshot 35-29 overall.

Prince George travels to Wenatchee next weekend to play the Wild.

Tavin Grant allowed 3 goals on 27 shots in relief.
