Elections BC begins day 3 of Absentee Vote counting

Update, 12:30 pm: 

At the noon update, only four ridings are left to be counted.

Courtenay-Comox is one of the last. The NDP lead has widened to 148 votes.

The Liberal’s margin of the popular vote has shrunk to 0.08%.

Elections BC’s next scheduled update is 2 pm.

Update, 10:40 am: 

As of 10 am, Elections BC  has finished counting ballots in all but 8 of the province’s 87 ridings.
One of the 2 recounted ridings has been completely counted. The BC Liberals will keep their seat in Vancouver-False Creek.
The Courtenay-Comox riding remains a nailbiter. With ballots still being counted, the NDP have the lead by 101 votes.
Province wide, the Liberals lead by less than 2,000 votes – that’s 0.09% of the popular vote.
The next update from Elections BC will be this afternoon.

6:00 am: Re-counting continues for Elections BC as they continue to go through absentee votes.

As of Tuesday night, NDP candidate Rona Rae Leonard is leading Liberal candidate Jim Benninger in the Courtenay-Comox riding by 101 votes.

More ballots will be counted by Wednesday morning.

The official results will be announced later on in the day.
