School zones will be in effect starting on Tuesday at some Prince George schools. Corporal Craig Douglass says drivers going past private schools will have to watch their speed.
“The law clearly states that if schools are in session, then the school zones are in session,” says Douglass, “so therefore if schools are not in session, there will not be school zones that are active.”
Douglass says school zone speeds are in effect between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday. He says if you don’t know if a school is in session, air on the side of a caution. School zone speeds are posted at 30 km/hour.
