The 29-year-old World Cup gold medalist officially becomes the highest paid netminder in the National Hockey League, $2 million above second-place Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers.
The 2014 Olympic gold medalist with Canada in Sochi completed his 10th season with Montreal this past year.
He won 37 of 62 games, recording three shutouts, a 2.23 goals-against-average (GAA), and 0.923 save-percentage (SV%).
Price would’ve been a free agent at the end of the upcoming 2017-18 season; he’ll wear the Canadiens’ sweater through to the 2025-26 season.
