A blanket of rain expected for Prince George

Some wet weather is headed for Prince George.

An extended period of rain could begin today with a chance of thundershowers and a predicted high of 23 degrees Celsius.

The rain could also improve the smoky conditions. “As long as there is a forest fire there will be a smoke, unfortunately, but in this case because we are expecting some precipitation and for Prince George because we are expecting precipitation all through next week we should see some of the rain clear out some of the smoke,” says Cindy Yu, meteorologist with Environment Canada.

Overnight conditions are slated to have some rain in the forecast until at least next Tuesday.

Five to ten millimeters is expected to reach the Cariboo today.

The rain will be short-lived in that region however as it will move into Alberta on Friday.
