The Exploration Place has seen much success with its new merchandise.
Those Mr. PG plush toys that have been popping up around the city since last month have been selling better that expected.
Museum CEO Tracy Calagheros says they ordered 1000 and now have less than 40.
“The first day they came in, it was late on a Friday and one of my staff posted it online and there were people in to buy it within 15 minutes of it hitting the web,” says Calagheros, “and the following morning, we had a line up at the front door waiting for us to open on Saturday morning, and I can honestly say that other than when Chris Hadfield (Canadian astronaut) was here we’ve never had a line up like that.”
Calagheros says they won’t be able to get any more toys in time for the games.
She says they will order more in the future, but are trying to decide how many and what design the toys should have.
