Some recognition is in order for the type of season the Prince George Spruce Kings just had.
The City is holding a celebration today (Tue) at the PG Conference and Civic Centre at 4pm.
Prince George won the Fred Page Cup and the Doyle Cup for the first time in franchise history this spring.
The Spruce Kings also advanced to the National Junior A Championship in Brooks, Alberta, but lost in the final to the host Bandits 4-3 on Sunday.
The last team from Prince George to win a national championship was the Mohawks in 1978.
Everyone is invited to welcome the @SpruceKings back to Prince George to celebrate their championship season. Info: https://t.co/UULlf1qMah pic.twitter.com/qJ85MqxRA4
