NBA:

Toronto Raptors  105  Milwaukee Bucks  99

The Raptors are one win away from the NBA finals for the first time in team history.

They lead the Eastern Conference final 3-2 with game six Saturday night (5:30 PT) in Toronto.

Kawhi Leonard scored 35 points, his 11th 30-plus performance for the Raptors.

Fred VanVleet had seven three-pointers for Toronto as part of a playoff career-high 21 points.

The Raptors trailed 18-4 early in the first quarter but were only down 75-72 after three quarters.

The Bucks are riding their first three-game losing streak of the season.

The Golden State Warriors will start the NBA finals on Thursday, May 30th at either Toronto or Milwaukee.

The Warriors, who are Western Conference champions for a fifth straight year, have won their last six games (all without the injured Kevin Durant)

:

Dave Tippett is widely considered the front-runner to be named head coach of the Edmonton Oilers.

The 57-year-old Tippett is a former Jack Adams coach of the year award winner who has coached over 1,100 NHL games, most recently with the Arizona Coyotes in 2017.

The Ottawa Senators have hired D.J. Smith as their head coach.

Smith spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The first two games in the Stanley Cup final will be played in Boston on Monday and Wednesday.

The series will shift to St. Louis for game three on Saturday, June 1st.

MEMORIAL CUP: (in Halifax)

There are two games remaining at the Memorial Cup.

The semifinal tonight has the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies against the Guelph Storm.

The winner plays the host Halifax Mooseheads in Sunday’s final.

Halifax, Guelph and Rouyn-Noranda all finished the round-robin 2-1 while the Prince Albert Raiders ended up 0-3.

The WHL champions have lost 13 straight at the Memorial Cup, dating back to 2015.
