The Prince George Cougars will open their 2019-20 regular season on Friday, September 20th when they host the Western Conference champion Vancouver Giants.
The entire WHL schedule will be released today.
The Cougars will also play in the Victoria Royals home opener on Friday, September 27th.
PG Cougars goalie Taylor Gauthier, who was not drafted, will attend the Boston Bruins development camp.

The PG Cougars have the 10th overall pick in the 27th annual CHL Import Draft on Thursday (beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT).
For the first time since 2013, goaltenders will be eligible for selection in the Import Draft.

NHL:
The Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2019 includes Hayley Wickenheiser, Guy Carbonneau, Vaclav Nedomansky and Sergei Zubov as player inductees.
In addition, three-time Stanley Cup-winning GM Jim Rutherford and longtime Boston College coach Jerry York enter the Hall in the builder category.
The induction ceremonies will be held Nov 18th.

The St. Louis Blues rewarded coach Craig Berube for guiding the team to the Stanley Cup.
Berube has signed a three-year contract.
Terms have not been disclosed.

Washington Capitals defenceman Brooks Orpik has announced his retirement after 15 NHL seasons.
The 38-year-old Orpik won the Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 2009 and with Washington last year.

A total of 19 teams (13 in the men’s division and six in the women’s division) have been confirmed for the 50th annual Canada Day Fastpitch Tournament at Spruce City Stadium.
Participants are from B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Prince George has two teams in each division: Big Guy Lake Kings, and Custom Edge Sports (men) plus Falcon Contracting Little Chiefs and PG Chaos (women).
Games begin Friday at 3:00 p.m. with the final scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 5:00.

Two-time NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard is expected to meet with the LA Clippers on Tuesday (July 2nd).
The Toronto Raptors are the only team that can offer the 27-year-old Leonard a max contract worth $190 million over five years.

The best-of-three PG Senior Lacrosse semi-finals will take to the floor next month (with all games at 8:00 PM).
