The unemployment rate in the Northern Capital continues to stay low.

Vincent Ferrao, an analyst with Statistics Canada said the rate in the city has been steady at 4.2%, with 2300 people unemployed and looking for work.

“That’s little change compared with June of last year,” he said. ”

“We have 51,800 people working and that’s pretty well stable as well.”

The unemployment rate last year was also at 4.2%, and this month BC is sitting at 4.5%.

The country’s unemployment rate is 5.4%.
