Stagnant gas prices in PG could be see a bump next week

Gas prices in Prince George have remained stagnant over the past two weeks but the Senior Petroleum Analyst for Gas Price Wizard.com said that’s about to change.

Even though the price at the majority of the pumps currently sits 132.9 cents a litre, Dan McTeague told MyPGNow.com a price bump to take place next week.

“If I look at gas prices here in Prince George, for most gas stations, the cost to buy their fuel is around a dollar twenty a litre, you’re paying a dollar thirty-two and that is likely to stay for the next little while but there is an upward thrust on the market.”

McTeague adds trade tensions among world leaders and the Canadian dollar aren’t helping matters either.

“These variables mean that long-term predictions aren’t necessarily going to be accurate but my sense is that this price between one thirty and one forty will be in place until the very end of July.”

He predicts prices will be in the dollar thirty or dollar forty range for at least the rest of the month.

The cheapest place to fuel up continues to be Costco at 126.9.
