A Prince George mother is reaching out for help in her battle with anorexia.
Jennifer Doucette is crowd funding online to help pay for her treatment at a Manitoba clinic and released a video on YouTube pleading for help.
Doucette fears she could die without treatment. “Reaching out for help has been one of the hardest, most embarrassing things I’ve ever done,” she says in the video. “It’s emotional, and anxiety-ridden, and just straight-up scary. I’ve spent months trying to recover on my own have even been trying to get treatment through mental health.”
“I’ve lost control of my body,” she continues. “My hips and legs give out randomly, my face hurts every single day. I’ve been dealing with therapists, councillors, and psychiatrists, and psychologists.”
“Last year, I was told that I had lost most of the fluid between my bones which causes tremendous amounts of pain,” she says.
Doucette says the clinic costs $2200 a week.
The 21-year old weighs under 40kg.
