Gusty week ahead in the Northern Capital

It was a foggy morning in the city of Prince George and it may be a windy week.

“We’re keeping an eye out on a system that’s sitting in the Eastern Pacific and that will kind of move through the Prince George area on Monday night to Tuesday. That’s going to bring rain late overnight Monday and Tuesday morning,” said Environment Canada Meteorologist Jonathan Bau.

Starting tonight and into Tuesday, he said we should see 10mm of rain and some gusty southeast winds reaching about 20-30 km an hour and a high of 7 degrees. The rain looks to taper off for Tuesday evening and Bau expects a low of +3.

“Once we get past this system, going into midweek, we’ll see a mix of sun and cloud but gusty winds will remain, looking at southeast 20-30 km an hour up to 50km an hour.”

Come Thursday another system may be passing through the area which could bring up to 5mm of rain throughout the day.
