Possibility of flurries this week: Environment Canada

While Environment Canada was calling for a couple of centimetres of snow in the Bulkley Valley this week, Prince George is not quite there yet.

The forecast for the upcoming week includes some rain and flurries on Wednesday, but meteorologist Mike Gismondi does not expect that to stick.

“On Sunday a system is coming in that will bring rain overnight and into Monday morning. By afternoon Monday things should dry out a bit, it will just basically be a cloudy day.”

He said the rain will return overnight, calling for an unsettled couple of days to start off the week.

“The rest of the week is shaping up to be a mixed bag of weather, Tuesday will be fairly dry, probably quite a windy out of the west, gusting 40-60km an hour for most of the day. Wednesday night and Thursday should be a scattered amount of showers and flurries throughout the day and that may continue into Friday,” said Gismondi.

He said no significant snow is expected for the area.
