MLB: (World Series)

Washington Nationals  7  Houston Astros  2

World Series is even 3-3 with the 7th and deciding championship game tonight (5:08 PT) in Houston.

Max Scherzer (Washington) and Zack Grienke (Houston) will start on the mound.

The visiting team has outscored the home team 43-12 in winning the first six games.

(Washington won 5-4, 12-3 and 7-2 on the road while Houston won 4-1, 8-1 and 7-1 as the visitors)

Softball:

Shortstop Nicholas Potskin of Prince George has been named by Softball Canada to the 2020 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool.

The 22-year-old Potskin is one of 44 athletes on the list.

Players named to the Athlete Pool are eligible to be invited to Men’s National Team training, development and selection camps.


NHL: 

Four Canadian NHL teams were in action on Tuesday and all of them lost.

The (7-3-1) Vancouver Canucks start a three-game California road trip when they face the (4-8) Kings this evening at 7:30 in LA.

The Canucks also visit Anaheim Friday (7:00) and San Jose Saturday (7:00).

Vancouver is just two points out of first place in the Pacific Division and the Western Conference.

Two other Canadian teams also play tonight, and both are on the road; Edmonton visits Columbus and Montreal is at Arizona.

Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi has come to terms on an eight-year contract extension with the team worth just over $9 million per season.

Josi has five goals and 13 points in 11 games this season.

WHL: (PG Cougars)

The Prince George Cougars visit the (7-4-1-1) Kelowna Rockets Friday and the (6-6-1) Spokane Chiefs Saturday.

Cougars starting goalie Taylor Gauthier is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Back-up goalie Tyler Brennan is headed to the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Medicine Hat and Swift Current which runs Nov 2nd to 9th.

The (4-9-0-1) Cougars are last in the Western Conference, four points behind the (6-5-1) Victoria Royals and four back of the (5-5-2-1) Seattle Thunderbirds and Spokane Chiefs.

Prince George has 11 games in November, including action at CN Centre against Medicine Hat Nov. 6th and Victoria Nov. 8th and 9th.

BCHL: 
(PG Spruce Kings)

The Prince George Spruce Kings host the (8-11) Langley Rivermen Friday and Saturday.

The (6-9-2-1) Spruce Kings are 4th in the Mainland Division, a point behind Langley and two ahead of the (6-12-0-1) Surrey Eagles.

BC Major Midget League: (Cariboo Cougars)

The (8-1-0-1) Cariboo Cougars will host the (11-0-0-1) league-leading Okanagan Rockets Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Kin 1.

The Major Midget Cougars are in 4th place in the 11-team BCMML, but just a point behind the (9-3) Vancouver NE Chiefs and the (9-3) Vancouver NW Hawks with the Cats holding two games in hand.

Canada West Basketball: (UNBC Timberwolves)

The UNBC Timberwolves open their Canada West basketball regular season with home games this weekend against the Victoria Vikes.

Game times are 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday for the women and two hours later for the men.

NBA:

The (3-1) Toronto Raptors host the (2-2) Detroit Pistons tonight.

The San Francisco 49’ers put their perfect 7-0 record on the line when they visit the (3-4-1) Arizona Cardinals Thursday to begin week 9 of the NFL season.

CFL: (Week 21)

There is just one weekend left in the CFL regular season.

The (12-5) Saskatchewan Riders can clinch first place in the West Division with a win at home against the Edmonton Eskimos Saturday (1:00 PT).

Saskatchewan is two points ahead of (11-6) Calgary and (11-7) Winnipeg.

The Stampeders close out the regular season when they visit the (5-12) BC Lions Saturday night at 7:00.

Week 21 begins Friday (4:00 PT) with (9-8) Montreal at (3-14) Ottawa.
