The Chiefs exploded with five goals in the second period.
Third-string goalie Jacob Herman allowed six goals for the second straight night.
Starter Taylor Gauthier is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury while back-up Tyler Brennan is competing at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Medicine Hat and Swift Current.
The (4-11-0-1) Cougars are last in the Western Conference, four points behind (6-7-1) Victoria and (5-7-2-1) Seattle.
They are also seven back of (7-6-2) Spokane.

With the weekend sweep, the (8-9-2-1) Spruce Kings are in third place in the Mainland Division, three points ahead of (8-13) Langley and (7-13-0-2) Surrey and seven behind the second place (11-7-3-1) Chilliwack Chiefs.
The Spruce Kings play their next three on the road.
Prince George will visit (17-4) Coquitlam Wednesday, Surrey Friday and Chilliwack Saturday.
The next home game for the Spruce Kings will be on Nov. 13th against the Vernon Vipers.

The Cougars are 9-2-0-1 and the Rockets 12-1-0-1 after the weekend split of the doubleheader at Kin 1.
The Major Midget Cougars are in 4th place in the 11-team BCMML, but just a point behind the (10-4) Vancouver NE Chiefs and the (10-4) Vancouver NW Hawks with Cariboo holding two games in hand.
The Cougars will be at the North Shore Winter Club this weekend for games against the Vancouver NW Hawks.
Game times are 7:45 p.m. (Saturday) and 10:15 a.m. (Sunday).

In other weekend action involving Cariboo Hockey teams, the North Central midget double-A Bobcats hosted East Kootenay in a doubleheader.
The Bobcats won 3-0 on Saturday and the teams battled to a 4-4 tie on Sunday.
Meanwhile, at the North Shore Winter Club, the major bantam (4-6-0-1) Cariboo Cougars won a pair of games against the Vancouver Northwest Hawks, 6-1 on Saturday and 3-2 in overtime on Sunday.
In minor midget play in Richmond, the Cougars beat the Valley West Giants 4-3 on Saturday and fell 5-2 on Sunday.
The loss ended a seven-game winning streak for the Cats, who are 7-3 on the season.
