Hundreds of people will be squeezing into the Prince George Civic Centre and the downtown core as we remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
The northern capital is hosting its Remembrance Day Ceremony on Monday morning, which kicks off at 9:00.
Parade Marshall, John Scott outlines what will all be happening.
“We’ll be marching off at about 10:45 AM to the city Cenotaph right in front of city hall and then at 11 o’clock we will have the two minutes of silence.”
After that, the parade will march down George Street to 5th Avenue and then off to Quebec Street before returning to the Civic Centre.
He adds an event like this is all about educating the younger generation about the importance of this day.
“It’s about teaching our youth to remember, our freedoms are hard won and that these people gave their lives so that we can live free and have conversations like this on the telephone and can speak our mind and live free.”
The Royal Canadian Legion will also be open for the occasion.
