Prince George Public Library hires new Library Director

Prince George Public Library Board Chair, Mike Gagel, announced the appointment of Paul Burry to the role of Library Director on Wednesday.

Burry was previously the Manager of Support and Circulation Services and was the Acting Chief Librarian since Janet Marren retired in July.

He has been with the Library since 2011.

Burry moved to Prince George with his wife and three daughters in 2003, earning a Bachelor of Arts at UNBC while working as a Library Assistant.

He completed his Master of Library & Information Science degree at the University of Washington in 2011, joining the Prince George Public Library shortly after.

“Paul’s experiences in various libraries, his skill set, and his interview with the hiring committee left us with no doubt that he is the best choice to take over leadership of Prince George Public Library. The Board was unanimous in selecting Paul,” said Gagel.
