The Spruce Kings picked up just a point despite outshooting the Vipers 40-29 before 832 fans at the RMCA.

The (8-11-2-3) Spruce Kings have lost four straight.
Prince George will host the (14-9-1-1) Cowichan Valley Capitals Friday and the (4-15-3-2) West Kelowna Warriors Saturday.
The Spruce Kings are third in the Mainland Division but just a point ahead of the (10-13) Langley Rivermen and two up on the last place (8-13-0-3) Surrey Eagles.
They are also eight behind the second place (12-7-4-1) Chilliwack Chiefs.

WHL: (PG Cougars)
The (4-13-0-2) Prince George Cougars visit the (13-6) Kamloops Blazers Friday and the (10-8-1-1) Vancouver Giants Saturday before hosting the (13-3-3-1) Edmonton Oil Kings Tuesday.
The Cougars have lost five in a row and nine of their last 10 to fall eight points out of a playoff spot.

BC Major Midget League: (Cariboo Cougars)
The Cariboo Cougars visit the (9-4-0-1) Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Saturday at 3:15 p.m. and Sunday at 11:45 a.m. in Abbotsford.
The (10-3-0-1) Major Midget Cougars are in 3rd place in the 11-team BCMML, a point behind the (11-5) Vancouver NW Hawks and a point ahead of the (10-4) Vancouver NE Chiefs.

The Cariboo Cougars have been given an official invite to compete in the 42nd Mac’s international midget hockey tournament in Calgary starting on Boxing Day.
The Cougars won the prestigious 25-team Mac’s championship in 2014.

The Vancouver Canucks are 1-1 on a 4-game homestand which continues tonight against the (9-8-2) Dallas Stars.
The Stars are 8-1-1 in their last 10 after stumbling to a 1-7-1 start this season.
The (10-6-3) Canucks are tied with Calgary for third in the Pacific Division, a point behind Arizona and three back of Edmonton.
The Oilers host Colorado this evening and Winnipeg visits Florida as three Canadian teams are in action among eight on the NHL slate.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without their captain for at least six weeks.
Sidney Crosby is recovering from surgery to repair a core muscle injury.
The 32-year-old Crosby leads the Penguins in scoring with 17 points in 17 games.

Canada West Basketball: (UNBC Timberwolves)
The UNBC Timberwolves host the UBC Thunderbirds in Canada West basketball Friday night at 6:00 & 8:00 and Saturday night at 5:00 and 7:00.
These will be the Timberwolves final regular-season homes games until January 10th.
UNBC is 3-1 in the men’s standings and 1-3 in the women’s division.
UBC is 2-2 in both the men’s and women’s standings.

Pascal Siakam scored 13 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter to lead Toronto.
The Raptors are 3-1 on a five-game road trip and 8-3 overall.
Toronto will visit the (6-4) Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.
The Raptors are tied for the third-best record in the NBA behind the (9-1) Boston Celtics and the (9-2) LA Lakers.

Justin Verlander and Mets ace Jacob deGrom are the Cy Young Award winners.
Verlander edged out Houston teammate Gerrit Cole (17 first-place votes to 13) for his second AL Cy Young honour.
deGrom won the NL prize for the second straight year taking 29 of 30 first-place votes.
CFL:
The CFL division finals on Sunday will determine the Grey Cup participants.
In the East, Edmonton plays at Hamilton (10:00 a.m. PT).
In the West, Winnipeg visits Saskatchewan (1:30 p.m. PT).
The winners advance to the 107th Grey Cup game Sunday, Nov. 24th in Calgary.
