The Cougars are blanked again

The Prince George Cougars have not scored in 177 minutes and two seconds.

This dates back to a Josh Maser goal, 2:58 into the first period of a 2-1 loss to the Victoria Royals on Saturday, November 9th at CN Centre.

For the second time in as many nights and third time in their last six games, the Cougars were shutout.

Despite 38 shots and seven power plays, the Cougars failed to put the puck past Vancouver goalie David Tendeck, as the Giants skunked Prince George 4-0 before 3,687 fans Saturday (November 16th) in Langley.

It was the league-leading third shutout of the season for the 20-year-old Tendeck.

Tyler Brennan stopped just 19 of 23 shots in the PG net, his first loss in three WHL starts.

Milos Roman scored twice and Tristen Nielsen added a goal and two assists as the Giants enjoyed period leads of 1-0 and 3-0.

The Cougars, who fell 1-0 Friday in Kamloops, have dropped their last seven games to fall 11 points out of the last Western Conference playoff spot which is held by Victoria, and the (10-7-1) Royals have three games in hand.

Prince George is 0-6-0-1 in the month of November.

The (4-15-0-2) Cougars start a three-game homestand Tuesday against the (13-4-3-1) Edmonton Oil Kings.

Prince George will also entertain (14-7) Kamloops on Friday and Saturday.
