Vancouver Giants 4 Prince George Cougars 0 (Saturday)
For the second time in as many nights and third time in their last six games, the Cougars were shutout.
Prince George has not scored in 177 minutes and two seconds.
Despite 38 shots and seven power plays, the Cougars failed to put the puck past Vancouver goalie David Tendeck, who posted his league-leading third shutout of the season before 3,687 fans in Langley.
Tyler Brennan stopped just 19 of 23 shots in the PG net, his first loss in three WHL starts.
Milos Roman scored twice and Tristen Nielsen added a goal and two assists as the (11-9-1-1) Giants enjoyed period leads of 1-0 and 3-0.

The Cougars have dropped their last seven games to fall 11 points out of the last Western Conference playoff spot, which is held by Victoria, and the (10-7-1) Royals have three games in hand.
The (4-15-0-2) Cougars start a three-game homestand Tuesday against the (13-4-3-2) Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Oil Kings are tied with the Lethbridge Hurricanes for first in the Central Division.
Prince George will also entertain (14-7) Kamloops on Friday and Saturday.

Taylor Gauthier stopped 43 of 44 shots while Rayce Ramsay made 23 saves for his second shutout of the season.
Matthew Seminoff scored the game’s only goal 38-seconds into the third period.

Nicholas Poisson scored twice and added an assist as the Spruce Kings ended a five-game losing streak in front of 941 fans at the RMCA.

The Capitals erased a 2-1 deficit by scoring the last three goals of the game before 1,101 fans in Prince George.

The Spruce Kings are tied with the (11-13-0-1) Langley Rivermen for third in the BCHL Mainland Division, three points in front of the last place (8-14-1-3) Surrey Eagles.
The (9-12-2-3) Spruce Kings close out their November schedule with five road games.
Prince George will visit (12-9-0-2) Alberni Valley Tuesday, (18-6-1-1) Nanaimo Wednesday, (6-15-1) Merritt Friday, (11-10-3-1) Wenatchee Nov. 25th and (20-5-1) Penticton Nov. 27th.

The (11-4-0-1) Major Midget Cougars are in 4th place in the 11-team BCMML, just a point behind the (12-4) Vancouver NE Chiefs and three back of the (13-5) Vancouver NW Hawks.
Cariboo will visit the (4-10-2) North Island Silvertips Saturday (4:45 p.m.) and Sunday (8:00 a.m.) in Nanaimo.
Their next home games are Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 when they’ll take on the Valley West Giants.

In the B.C. Hockey Minor Midget League, the Cariboo Cougars whipped the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds 8-2 Saturday and 4-2 on Sunday.
The Cougars moved to 9-3-0-0 and are in third place, two points back of the second-place Thunderbirds, who have played two extra games. The Okanagan Rockets (10-2-0-0) are in the top spot.

The North Central Bobcats split a weekend doubleheader with OMAHA North Zone in midget double-A play in Sicamous. The Bobcats won 4-2 on Saturday and fell 2-1 on Sunday.

In bantam double-A competition, the North Central Bobcats beat Yukon 7-5 on Saturday in Whitehorse, after a 4-1 loss on Friday.

The (10-7-4) Vancouver Canucks play their next six on the road starting Tuesday (5:30 p.m. PT) in Dallas against the (11-8-2) Stars.
Dallas is 8-1-1 in its last 10 games.
Vancouver is third in the Pacific Division, two points behind Arizona and only a point ahead of Vegas and Calgary and two in front of Anaheim.
The Canucks are coming off Saturday’s 5-4 overtime loss against Colorado.

Defenceman Brandon Manning of Prince George is hoping to come off the Edmonton Oilers Injured Reserved list this week.
The 29-year-old Manning has been dealing with a hand injury.
He was hurt last week (Nov 12th) after getting into a fight with Barclay Goodrow of the San Jose Sharks after Connor McDavid took a big hit.
Manning, a former PG Spruce King and Cariboo Cougar, has one point (a goal) and 17 penalty minutes in nine games with the Oilers this season.

The New Jersey Devils placed goalie Cory Schneider on waivers for the purpose of sending him to AHL.
In six games with the Devils this season, Schneider has a 0-4-1 record, 4.59 goals-against average and a .852 save percentage.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will battle the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 107th Grey Cup game on Sunday in Calgary
(with kickoff just after 3:00 PT).
West Division final: Winnipeg 20 Saskatchewan 13
Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros completed 17 of 25 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown.
Winnipeg last played in a Grey Cup in 2011 when the Bombers lost 34-23 to the host B.C. Lions.
The Blue Bombers haven’t won the CFL’s championship trophy since 1990, the longest drought in the CFL.
East Division final: Hamilton 36 Edmonton 16
Dane Evans threw for 386 yards and a touchdown in his first CFL playoff start for Hamilton.
The Tiger-Cats, which finished the regular season with a CFL-best 15-3 record, last won the Grey Cup in 1999.
This will be Hamilton’s first Grey Cup appearance since 2014.
