WHL: (PG Cougars)

Edmonton Oil Kings  3  Prince George Cougars  2

The Cougars ended their goalless streak at 199 minutes but suffered their eighth consecutive loss before 1,803 fans at CN Centre.

Defenceman Matthew Robertson snapped a 2-2 tie with 3:15 left in the second period for the Central Division-leading Oil Kings.

Mitch Kohner and Cole Moberg tallied for the Cats, who were outshot 36-24.

Neither team scored on the power-play.

The (4-16-0-2) Cougars, who have lost their last seven home games, entertain the (14-7) Kamloops Blazers Friday and Saturday.

Prince George is 11 points out of the last Western Conference playoff spot, which is held by Victoria, and the (10-7-1) Royals have four games in hand.

BCHL
: (PG Spruce Kings)

Prince George Spruce Kings  4  Alberni Valley Bulldogs  3

Nicholas Poisson scored his second goal of the game at 5:25 of the third to snap a 3-3 tie.

The (10-12-2-3) Spruce Kings are 1-0 on a five-game road trip which continues tonight against the (18-6-1-1) Clippers in Nanaimo.

PG will also play at (6-15-1) Merritt Friday, (11-10-3-1) Wenatchee Monday and (20-5-1) Penticton on Wednesday, Nov. 27th.

The Spruce Kings are third in the BCHL Mainland Division, four points behind Chilliwack and two ahead of Langley.

BC Major Midget League:
(Cariboo Cougars)

The Cariboo Cougars play this weekend in Nanaimo against the (4-10-2) North Island Silvertips Saturday (4:45 p.m.) and Sunday (8:00 a.m.).

The (11-4-0-1) Major Midget Cougars are in 4th place in the 11-team BCMML, just a point behind the (12-4) Vancouver NE Chiefs and three back of the (13-5) Vancouver NW Hawks.

NHL: (Canadian teams went 3-4 Tuesday)

Dallas Stars  6  Vancouver Canucks  1

It was the seventh loss in the last eight games for Vancouver.

The (10-8-4) Canucks are 4th  in the Pacific Division, a point behind Vegas and a point ahead of Calgary.

Vancouver will continue a six-game road trip Thursday (5:00 PT) in Nashville against the (9-8-3) Predators.

Canada West Basketball: (UNBC Timberwolves)

The UNBC Timberwolves will play their final Canada West basketball games until the new year this weekend in Kamloops.

The Timberwolves take to the court against the TRU WolfPack Friday and Saturday.

UNBC is 3-3 in the men’s standings and 2-4 in the women’s division.

TRU is 5-1 (men) and 4-2 (women).

NBA:

The (9-4) Toronto Raptors host the (6-7) Orlando Magic tonight (4:30 PT).

NFL:

Will this be Philip Rivers last year as the starting quarterback for the LA Chargers?

Rivers, who turns 38 next month and is in the final year of his contract, has thrown a whopping seven interceptions his last two games.

The 4-7 Chargers are a longshot to make the AFC playoffs.

Week 12 of the NFL season begins Thursday (5:20 PT) with Indianapolis at Houston.

Both the Colts and Texans are 6-4 and tied for the top spot in the AFC South.

CFL: 

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have not won the Grey Cup in 20 years (since 1999).

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have not won the Grey Cup in 29 years (since 1990).

One of these droughts will end on Sunday in the 107th Grey Cup game in Calgary.

Kickoff will be just after 3:00 PT.

Winnipeg last played in a Grey Cup in 2011 when the Bombers lost 34-23 to the host B.C. Lions.

This will be Hamilton’s first Grey Cup appearance since 2014  (a 20-16 loss to Calgary in Vancouver).

The Tiger-Cats finished the regular season with a CFL-best 15-3 record while the Blue Bombers were 11-7.
