15 to 25 cm of snow headed for PG?

Updated story 10:40 AM

Prince George might resemble a winter wonderland according to Environment Canada.

A snowfall warning has been issued for the Northern Capital where 15 to 25 cm of snow could fall.

Meteorologist Armel Castellan recently spoke with MyPGNow.com.

“That’s going to last most of today and into tomorrow morning, there could be a little bit of a pause this afternoon but we are still expecting the warning criteria to be reached.”

He adds the potential winter storm comes at a time where the temperature outside is a little cooler than normal.

“The higher temperatures of the day for this time of year is usually around minus three and we’re having highs of minus six or minus seven for the next couple of days so it’s going to be a little cooler than normal. It should bounce back by about Monday or Tuesday.”

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in the heavy snow and road conditions may worsen as a result.
