The Winterhawks swept the weekend doubleheader in Portland and all four games against the Cougars in a six-day span.

Joel Hofer made 26 saves for the Winterhawks, who outshot the Cats 33-27 before 2,863 fans.
Hofer is one of 8 WHL and 31 players overall that will attend Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp today (Monday) to Thursday in Oakville, Ont.
Tyler Brennan blocked 29 of 32 shots in the Prince George net.
Josh Maser, with his team-high 13th, notched the only PG goal, which briefly tied the game at 1 early in the second period.
Robbie Fromm-Delorme scored the winner at 7:19 of the middle period.

The Cougars have scored one or less goals in 10 of their 29 games (five times they have been shutout and five other times they have scored just once).
The (20-6-1-2) Winterhawks are tied with the (21-6-1) Everett Silvertips for first place in the U.S. Division, although Everett has a game in hand.
The (6-20-1-2) Cougars have lost five straight and are 12 points behind the (12-12-2-1) Tri-City Americans for the last Western Conference wild-card spot.
Prince George will host the (15-9-2) Victoria Royals Friday and Saturday in its final home games in 2019.

For the second time in three games, Joel Hofer blanked the Cougars as he blocked 25 shots for his 4th shutout of the season before 9,326 fans in Portland.

On Tuesday in Prince George, Hofer made 23 saves in a 3-0 victory at CN Centre.
Lane Gilliss scored the Teddy Bear toss goal (11,156 Bears) which turned out to be the winner at 7:42 of the first period.
It was the second straight year Gilliss got the Portland Teddy Bear goal.

Reece Newkirk and Simon Knak tallied in the second period for the Winterhawks, who beat the Cougars for the third time in five nights.
Portland won Wednesday’s game in Prince George 5-4 in overtime.
Taylor Gauthier made 43 saves as PG was outshot 46-25, including 18-3 in the third period.

The Duchess Park Condors placed 4th out of 20 teams at the 2019 Sr. Boys Tsumura Basketball Invitational at Langley Events Centre.
The Condors lost the bronze-medal game 81-63 to the Burnaby South Rebels.
Duchess dropped the semi-final 83-67 to the Centennial Centaurs, who went on to win the tournament, defeating the Kelowna Owls in the final 84-81.

CFL:
The Ottawa Redblacks have signed Paul LaPolice to a three-year contract to become the second head coach in team history.
LaPolice was the offensive coordinator this season with the Grey Cup champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
He also was the Blue Bombers head coach from 2010-2012.
LaPolice replaces Rick Campbell as the Redblacks head coach.
Campbell is now the head coach of the B.C. Lions.
