A Prince George Cougars alumni got the call of a lifetime today (Thursday).
Jansen Harkins is up with the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets to fill in as an injury replacement.
The Jets placed forwards Andrew Copp and Mathieu Perrault on injured reserve.

Harkins has been tearing it up with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League this season, leading the entire league in assists with 24.
The 22-year-old is also the Moose’s top scorer with 31 points.
Harkins was drafted by the Jets in the 2nd round of the 2015 NHL Draft where he was selected 47th overall.
In 275 career games with the Cougars, Harkins compiled 242 points during his four-year stint in the Western Hockey League.
