As the year comes to a close, Mackenzie-Prince George Liberal MP Mike Morris explained his riding has seen plenty of job losses in the forestry sector.
“It was volatile. when we are looking at the forestry industry and the impact it has had in Mackenzie in particular, it’s also had impacts on Prince George,” he said
“We have seen significant impacts in the smaller communities.”
Morris stressed the need for resource and economic diversification.

“The forest sector is, in my view, going to be a mere shadow of itself as we move forward, waiting for everything to recover.”
He stated the completion of the Parsnip River bridge and the Salmon River bridge will help with resource development in Northern B.C.
